Grammar
Object pronouns
Subject pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) do the action. Object pronouns (me, you, him, her, it, us, them) receive the action: She helps me. I help her. They call us. We meet them.
Object pronouns come after verbs and prepositions: Talk to me. Listen to him. Come with us. This is for you.
My friend calls me every evening.
I know him very well.
Can you help us, please?
This present is for you.
Reflexive pronouns
We use reflexive pronouns when the subject and object are the same person: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves.
I cut myself. She taught herself to play the piano. Enjoy yourself! By myself = alone: I live by myself.
I taught myself to use the phone.
Be careful, don’t hurt yourself.
She lives by herself.
We enjoyed ourselves at the party.
Each other
We use “each other” when two people do the same thing to one another: We help each other. They love each other. They talk to each other every day.
Compare: They looked at themselves (each person looked at him / herself). They looked at each other (A looked at B and B looked at A).
We call each other every day.
My sister and I help each other.
They trust each other a lot.
We don’t see each other often.
