What makes a weekend memorable?

Think about last weekend. Can you remember every hour? Probably not. Many scientists say that we remember new things and strong feelings better than normal days.

Marta, a teacher from Lviv, has a good example. Last Saturday she visited a small village for the first time. She walked in the forest, picked mushrooms and cooked soup on a fire.

In the evening, her neighbour played the guitar and everybody sang. “I didn't use my phone all day,” Marta said.

On Sunday she travelled home and looked at her photos. She smiled. “It was only one weekend,” she said, “but I remember every minute.”
