What did you do at the weekend?
What do people do at the weekend? In many countries, the weekend is Saturday and Sunday. In some countries, it is Friday and Saturday, so it depends on where you live. Surveys often show that people rest at home, watch TV and meet friends or family. Some people clean the flat, go shopping or cook a big dinner for the family.
Imagine a typical weekend. On Saturday morning, a woman cleaned the flat and went shopping at the market. She bought fresh vegetables and some cheese. In the afternoon, she cooked dinner, and in the evening her friends visited her. They had dinner, talked and watched a film.
On Sunday, the family went for a walk in the park. The children played games, and the parents rested on a bench. Then they visited a relative, an old aunt, and drank tea with her. At night, everybody went home and prepared for Monday.
Some people use the weekend to do hobbies, sport or a short trip. Others just do nothing, and that is also fine! A weekend is a time to rest and to meet the people you love.
