How long is the school day in different countries?
How long is the school day in different countries? It depends. In a lot of countries, the school day is about five to seven hours. Pupils usually start at eight or nine in the morning, and they finish in the afternoon.
In Finland, a school day is often short. Pupils start at about eight or nine and finish between one and two o'clock. They have a lot of breaks, and they do not have much homework. In Japan, the school day is a bit longer. Pupils wear a uniform, and they often clean the classroom and the corridors themselves. In Ukraine, lessons usually start at eight o'clock, and a lesson is forty-five minutes. A bell rings at the start and at the end of each lesson.
In many schools, pupils eat lunch in the canteen. In some countries, pupils go home for lunch. After school, many children do homework, play sport or go to clubs.
A school day is different in every country, but the pupils are the same: they study, play and wait for the bell.
