Do twins feel the same things?

About three in a hundred babies are twins. Some twins are identical, and some are not. Identical twins look the same, and they have the same genes. But they have not got the same fingerprints. Every person has got a different fingerprint.

Do twins feel the same things? A lot of twins say, "I know when my sister is sad". Some people call this "twin feelings". Scientists have not shown that twins can feel each other's emotions from far away. But twins are often very close. They live together as children, they share a room, and they know each other's voices, toys and secrets.

Twins are two different people. They have got different thoughts, different friends and different hobbies. Anna's favourite colour is red, but her twin's colour is blue.

Have you got a twin or do you know twins?

Grammar for speaking

Possessive 's

This is Anna's bag. It is my brother's phone. My sister's name is Kate. The girls' toys are here. The twins' room is small.

Whose...?

Use whose to ask who has something. Do not confuse whose and who's (= who is).

Whose bag is this? It's Anna's. Whose phones are these? They are the twins'. Who's your teacher? (= Who is your teacher?)
